Thirty-two teams from around the world get a private 40m² garage, industrial power, isolated high-speed telemetry and a full inspection day before the first event. They compete for over US$1,000,000 in cash: in each of the seven competitions US$100,000 to the winner, US$10,000 for second and US$5,000 for third, plus US$200,000 and the Gold Titanium Trophy for the overall Grand Laureate. Research labs, universities, startups, independent teams and mixed consortia may enter with their own or third-party robot platforms. Teams keep 100% of their technology and intellectual property.

Scrutineering is treated like qualifying inspection. Teams must pass mass, RF, E-stop, and battery containment gates before arena access credentials are armed.
